Infrared Thermal Imaging Training Companies
If you want to become a qualified thermal imaging professional, NAIS recommends researching thermography training
companies carefully as the quality varies widely. Some schools do not offer consumer protection, or do not specialize
in infrared thermography training. Understand the tuition reimbursement procedure and refund policy before you
enroll in any infrared training school. Make sure that the thermography training counts towards any continuing
education requirements in your state including field experience or apprenticeships.
A qualified thermographer should have a minimum of Level 1 Thermographer Certification that meets the recommended
practices section, SNT-TC-1A, of The American Society of Nondestructive Testing, Inc. The thermographer should
also have the ability to provide reports in multiple formats.
NAIS-Accredited Infrared Thermal Imaging Training
The organizations below are NAIS-accredited* training providers that count towards the education requirement for
NAIS membership. NAIS-accredited training providers who also participate in NAIS's Gold-Level program are eligible
to provide free 1-year NAIS memberships to their graduates. If you are considering an infrared training course,
ask the provider if they have applied to become an NAIS-accredited training provider. Applicants for membership
who do not meet the NAIS-accredited education requirement must qualify with documented thermal imaging survey experience.
